What are the requirements for trusts?
Because trusts are treated as non-residents under U.S. income tax treaties, GlobeTax needs to ‘look through’ to obtain Certifications of Residency (IRS Form 6166) for underlying investors.
Underlying beneficiary information is also required to file reclaims in certain markets. Therefore, GlobeTax requires a completed template disclosing investor name, tax ID number, physical mailing address, entity type, and percentage of ownership, as required by the Internal Revenue Service. This information is required on a per year basis.
